We are considering forming a consortium to run an experiment in manufacturing companies for our digital twin product. There are several European calls that we can apply to get funding for running this experiment.
We need a manufacturing company in Europe. The application that we are developing is digital twin. In simple terms, digital twin is a virtual AI model of any equipment / process to predict different parameters including maintenance, supply, etc. Implementing digital twin increases digitization level of the company valid in Industry 4.0 standard. The consortium receives money from the European union.
I have prepared the following questionnaire as well:
Ø What will you develop ? What does it do ? We build AI model of an equipment / process which is used in a manufacturing company. A press, an injection molding machine or other typical equipment in manufacturing companies are good examples. It can also be a process, such as movement of a robotic arm or training employees. Digital twin has many applications in different fields, however, we are mainly focused on applications in manufacturing companies. In particular digital twin has been used and proved a lot in automotive industry.
Ø To whom is this of importance? Who is your ideal partner ? Ideal partner is a manufacturing company capable of recording and sharing data from their processes.
Ø What are the specific needs of this partner that you can counter with your solution ? The ideal partner should be a manufacturing company interested to design a digital twin of one of their machines or processes. It can be used for example for its predictive maintenance. The partner needs to share the data of the equipment with the consortium to train an AI model or willing to record the data.
Ø Which is your unique feature that others do not have ? Real-time process on portable embedded boards like Nvidia Jetson, privacy respecting (no storage of data including audio, video, …) and expertise in AI and deep learning. Our company is closely connected to academics namely KULeuven, Belgium.
Ø What is the huge benefit of your advantage, that makes the other solutions in the field so unpractical ? We are expert in computer vision in particular RGB and thermal video processing. In addition to typical IOT and IIOT based sensors, We can convert video to meaningful features that can be used in digital twin. For example, by recording video of a device we can detect different objects, their movement, their temperature and most importantly, the deviation of these parameters over time to fine-tune the digital twin model of the equipment / process.
