This year's edition of the ECHO journal presents the regional support agency ZEUSS, which is responsible for the Horizon Europe information agenda in neighbouring Saxony. Colleagues from Saxony briefly map the joint activities of the two regions in the Framework Programmes, especially in European partnerships, and give some suggestions for strengthening mutual cooperation in R&D.

In late May, the European Commission published an analysis of the forthcoming Horizon Europe Strategic Plan for the period 2025-2027, which was preceded by a public consultation launched by the European Commission in early December on the past, present and future of the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Innovation 2014-2027. The views and comments of selected stakeholders in European research support on the future direction of Horizon Europe can be found in the article "Evaluation of the EU Framework Programmes. How do selected stakeholders see it?" (only in Czech)

What are the trends in energy research in the Czech Republic and what energy sources will the Czech Republic draw on when the coal-fired power plants are completely shut down around 2038, we asked Aleš Laciok, Research and Development Coordinator at CEZ Group. (only in Czech)
