In this part of the website we will introduce you main types of actions (projects) that you can face in Horizon Europe. Individual actions may differ by the type of funded activities, the amount and form of funding and the minimum number of partners in the consortium. 

• Research and innovation actions (RIAs) are projects implemented by a consortium of a minimum of 3 beneficiaries from 3 different EU Member States or Associated Countries to Horizon Europe (at least 1 of the partners must be from an EU Member State). It is a grant where the funding rate is uniformly set for all entities at 100% of eligible costs. In most cases, it is a "budget-based" grant, where real costs are reported, however, it unit costs, a flat rate or a lump sum can be used.
  
  
• Innovation Actions (IAs) include activities approaching market uptake. In projects, the minimum condition for participation is 3 out of 3 (see above). The funding rate is set at 70% of eligible costs, except for non-profit entities, which are left with 100% funding. In most cases, it is a "budget-based" grant (see above).
  
  
• Coordination and Support Actions (CSAs) contribute to the achievement of the programme's objectives, but usually do not include research or innovation activities. Projects can be implemented by only one entity and use uniform funding rates of 100% for all entities. In most cases, it is a "budget-based" grant (see above).
  
  
• Innovation and market deployment actions (IMDA) focus on EIC Accelerator projects for SMEs, which come up with breakthrough innovations and thus have the opportunity to receive support in the form of "blended finance", i.e. a combination of grant and equity (capital investment). Projects can only be implemented by one SME and the grant funding rate is 70%.
  
  
• Training and Mobility Action (TMA) presents Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) actions, which are aimed primarily at individual researchers to support their mobility, training and professional growth. It is a "unit grant" in which the beneficiaries are fully paid for unit contributions (unit contribution / allowances).
  
  
• Actions of the European Research Council (ERC) aim to support excellent researchers and push the boundaries of existing knowledge. They focus on supporting research carried out by the principal investigator (PI) and his/her team, and in most cases are carried out by only one beneficiary. The grant in the form of a "budget-based" provides the beneficiary with 100% funding of eligible costs.
