Award for outstanding gender equality measures

06/09/2024

Since 2022, the European Commission has been recognising special achievements through the successful implementation of gender equality plans (GEP) at universities, higher education institutions and other (public or private) research institutions with the Gender Equality Champions Award. This year’s call for applications was opened on 4 September.

Interested institutions can apply online for the Gender Equality Champions Award until 16 October 2024 at 17:00 CET. The results will be officially announced in 2025 and the winners will each receive the amount of 100,000 EUR. Organisations from an EU member state or a third country associated to Horizon Europe can take part.

They can apply in one of the three award categories:

  • Sustainability: the implementation of the GEP takes place at a consistently high level and with a sustainable objective
  • Newcomer: the organisation's first GEP has recently been completed and there has already been progress in its implementation
  • Inclusive innovation: the GEP addresses, among other things, the intersections between gender and other social categories

Admissibility, eligibility, and award criteria are detailed in the Rules of Contest, to be read carefully by all applicants before submitting their application.

Complete information on the call is here and you can submit your application here.
