This contractual partnership reperesnts the driving force for sustainable manufacturing in Europe. It contributes to a competitive and resilient manufacturing industry in Europe and affects many value chains. Another priority is circular economy and following a circular by design approach. The partnership also serves as a platform for aligning national and regional manufacturing technology initiatives. Strategic cooperation with key actors will be developed to ensure take-up of research results.

The partner of the European Commission in the implementation of this contractual partnership is the European Factories of the Future Association (EFFRA). This type of partnership implementation means that the relevant topics are part of the Horizon Europe Cluster 4 calls, in particular Destination 1 - Climate neutral, circular and digitised production
